Otter Watch
We have a friendly otter living in our wetshed! He is in fact wild, but has become so used to sharing the wetshed with us whilst we work on Ardea, that he is almost tame. He usually pops up on the side walk on the right hand side of the picture to eat his breakfast, so keep an eye open for him! He eats the fish that are in abundance here, and leaves the scales in a pile on the side walk, though sometimes if you miss him, you will just see the trail left by his wet feet and long tail. If approached too closely, he issues a loud warning "Hiss" before dropping leisurely back into the water.
And keep an eye open for our Heron, he lives on the quay as well!
If you are lucky you might be able to catch a glimpse of him on the Ardea webcam, and we'll put more clips on here when we get them. Many thanks to boat builder James Baliding, who took these pictures while working on Ardea.
